Atlanta’s Ludacris Partners With Beyond Meat Feed A Million+ pledge

Following Snoop Dogg and Kevin Hart’s donations to healthcare workers, Atlanta’s Ludacris has teamed up with Beyond Meat to support the company’s Feed A Million+ pledge.

“As everyone comes together to get through these unprecedented times, Beyond Meat feels a deep responsibility to give back,” a company spokerson in an email Tuesday told WNA.

“The company is rallying its employees, ambassadors, and fans to nominate causes to support those who need it most, with the ultimate goal of donating and distributing more than 1 million Beyond Burgers over 30 days.”

Through this initiative, Ludacris sent Original Beyond Thickburgers from Hardee’s to Carrie Pitts Steele Home in Atlanta.

“By donating a million+ Beyond Burgers to food banks, frontline workers and community organizations, Beyond Meat can help ensure those in need have access to good, nourishing meals at no cost. Beyond Meat’s goal has always been to use food as a vehicle for change, and the company is fortunate to be in a position to put that into action now like never before.”

The Tzedakah Project Launches The Elephant Initiative To Support Independent Contractors

The Tzedakah Project, a new non-profit from the folks behind Babs Midtown, has launched its latest fundraiser—The Elephant Initiative.

The Elephant Initiative is aimed at supporting independent contractors out of work during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Elephants are one of the most majestic and loyal creatures in the animal kingdom,” according to a landing page for the initiative.

“With this initiative, we want to support and honor our out-of-work independent contractors and sole proprietors that don’t qualify for state unemployment benefits as they may be struggling during this time. We constantly rely on them to make us “look good” in everyday life; from the hairdressers and nail technicians to event staff (including florists, caterers, wedding planners, and tent installers) and more. We want to provide assistance to the behind the scenes teams are often left behind yet are truly essential in our lives.”
