Mimi’s Comfort Food is owned by Mitzi Glasco, who is opening up their first cafe location on 2944 Rosebud Rd in Loganville. While the lease was originally designated for an October 1 move-in, things got pushed back and now they’re looking for mid-December or early January to take over the space.

While originally from Newburgh, NY, Glasco always had southern-inspired food nearby to grow her interest in that style of cuisine — particularly, her mother’s chopped BBQ and potato salad and access to her favorite restaurants which were within walking distance from her home.

Mimi’s Comfort Food operates primarily as a catering company, serving things like southern food, as well as Italian dishes like spaghetti and chicken parmesan. A special holiday menu is listed on the site, currently with Thanksgiving staples, including things like Turkey, mashed potatoes, and collard greens.

According to Glasco’s website, they’ve always wanted to open up a restaurant to share their passion for food with their community. After receiving the nickname “Mimi,” Glasco decided that the future restaurant will share the namesake.
