The special use permit, filed in late November of this year, has detailed that the Mediterranean restaurant will convert the old Aamco Auto Shop at 806 Northside Drive, Atlanta, Georgia. To achieve this, the permit details that construction on the building will ensure that the eatery will fully function with a brand new kitchen and grease trap, as per the City of Atlanta requirements.

The owner of the restaurant, Saheed Ahmed, is the current owner of the car wash, Miyagi Wash Inc., at 750 Old Roswell Rd in Roswell, Georgia. Ahmed, who filed the special use permit, has not previously been in Atlanta’s restaurant business.

The name of the Mediterranean restaurant will be The Library Restaurant and Bar.

Though it is unclear when a grand opening may be, the estimated timeline for the development of The Library will likely take upwards of a year in order to convert the former auto shop into an upscale restaurant and bar with a lot size of just over 11,000 square feet.

The location will accommodate over 40 parking spots as well as bicycle parking. The space also shows plans for a covered outdoor patio, large indoor bar, and dining space.
