The property’s owner Maxine Young, the founder of Hope Gardens Recreation in Lithonia—a recreational and educational center for individuals with developmental disabilities—is opening Max’s on The Miller in the building.

Young recently acquired the property, the entrepreneur Tuesday told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone interview.

The “restaurant for the neighborhood” is expected to open February 2018.

Max’s on the Miller will serve a wide variety of cusines—everything from “wings to Caribbean food.”

“We’ll serve something for everyone,” Young said.

The restaurant gets its name from the cross street where the three-building office complex is situated (Snapfinger Woods Drive and Miller Street.)

Young has been developing Max’s on the Miller for more than a year.

In September 2016, Young applied for a Special Land Use Permit (SLUP) “to allow a Late Night Establishment (Max’s on the Miller) within a 5,000-square-foot suite of the existing commercial office building.”

Young told WNA there was some confusion surrounding the restaurant’s use and that it was never intended to be a “late night” concept.
