UPDATE (December 27, 2017): Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria Opening January 12 in Perimeter Mall
Legacy Ventures has secured a deal to open a second location of its Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria concept, the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) Tuesday first reported.
The pizza joint is slated to replace the now-shuttered Varasano’s Pizza in Perimeter Mall, Brian Bullock, the chief operating officer of Legacy Venture’s restaurant division, in an email confirmed with What Now Atlanta.
Varasano’s shuttered its Perimeter Mall doors mid-2016.
Max’s Coal Oven Pizza is projected to open its Dunwoody location “some time in the summer,” Bullock said. The original Max’s first debuted downtown in 2009.
Legacy Ventures could also open a location of Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria later this year in Cinnamon Shores, Texas, according to the AJC.
Legacy is the restaurant group behind STATS Brewpub (formerly Stats Food & Drink), Game-X, Twin Smokers BBQ, Glenn’s Kitchen, SkyLounge at the Glenn Hotel, Der Biergarten, Ventanas, City View Room, Legacy Catering and Events and Legacy Test Kitchen.
