Documents submitted to the City of Atlanta late last week seek a Special Administrative Permit to develop a 21-story Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham at the site, the Atlanta Business Chronicle Tuesday first reported (paywall).

Overlooking Centennial Olympic Park, the “resort” would be operated by Wyndham Destinations and Margaritaville Vacation Club.

The project site is bound on three sides by Centennial Olympic Park Drive, Nassau Street, and Walton Street, and currently houses a parking lot, billboard, and three two-to-three story structures.

The new 292,000-square-foot building would be numbered with 22 stories but would not have a thirteenth floor.

207 “vacation ownership units” would be offered in a mix of studio, 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom suites.

On the 18th floor would be a pool “totally open to the sky” and an “open-air covered spa area” and an adjacent bar and restaurant.

A 14,200-square-foot Margaritaville Restaurant would span two stories situated along Centennial Olympic Park.

Downtown Development Review Committee has the project on its agenda for Thursday.
