Panjwani late last week filed plans with the city to buildout a 2,510-square-foot Marco’s, at 2331 Bolton Road NW, in the Bolton neighborhood of Atlanta.

The pizzeria is “a few months away” from opening, Panjwani told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation last week.

Panjwani is just one of many franchisees opening locations of the “nation’s fastest growing” pizza franchise in the greater metro Atlanta area. At least seven additional Marco’s Pizzas are “coming soon,” according to the company’s website.

Marco’s Pizza late-August released an “aggressive development plan” for the southeast, looking to add 35 locations by the end of 2015.

“With recent population booms and a rising economy, the Southeast is an exciting development region for Marco’s Pizza,” Cameron Cummins, vice president of franchise development at Marco’s, said in the announcement.

Nationwide, Marco’s plans on adding 175 new stores this year taking the pizzeria chain’s total locations to 600+ units, “at least one store opening every other day…”

The forthcoming Atlanta Marco’s Pizza locations include:

  1. 798 North Highland Avenue Suite B Atlanta, GA 30306 (formerly Ben & Jerry’s, Virginia-Highland)
  2. 3330 Piedmont Road Atlanta, GA 30305 (Peachtree Piedmont Cross Shopping Center, Buckhead)
  3. 227 N. McDonough Street Decatur, GA 30030 (Downtown Decatur)
  4. 832 Virginia Avenue Hapeville, GA 30354 (Virginia Place Shopping Center)
  5. 6035 Bakers Ferry Rd Atlanta, GA 30336 (Camp Creek Station)
  6. 4150 Macland Road Powder Springs, GA 30127 (Varner Crossing)

  1. I see the chances of success on North Highland to be slim. For a small place targeted at take-out parking will be a huge challenge – especially with the Park Atlanta nazis constantly lurking and looking for a meter expired within 30 seconds.

  2. Other than hanging a “coming soon” banner in the window, it doesn’t appear that any work has been done on the N. Highland location even though it was announced many months ago. The neighborhood has been assuming this deal fell through.

    1. Trust me it did not fall through. Next month it will open. You may ask how I know this! I am in training to work at that location.
