Loewe is in the works at the upscale shopping center in Buckhead, according to construction documents. The retail store, located between Hermès and Givenchy, would be nearly 1,900 square feet and include a fitting room area.
Loewe offers ready-to-wear apparel, accessories, home goods and lifestyle items for women and men. It was founded as a leathermaking collective in 1846 in Spain, making it one of the world’s oldest luxury fashion houses. The brand’s leather goods were originally crafted for Spanish royalty.
Eventually, the company began expanding outside leather. The first ready-to wear collection launched in 1965, and the first fragrance was introduced in 1972.
Loewe operates under luxury goods company LVMH, which acquired it in 1996. Jonathan Anderson became Loewe’s creative director in 2013, ushering in a new era for the brand.
New York-based architecture firm Kenneth Park Architects is working on the Atlanta store, according to construction plans.
Loewe would join other luxury brands at Phipps Plaza, including Dior, Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and more. The shopping mall is owned by Simon Property Group.
