Landmark Diner’s Nicholas Lambrou is Replacing Folks Southern Kitchen in Marietta With Something New

Chef Nicholas Lambrou has continued the family legacy with several restaurant openings, including an all-new one in Marietta

Nicholas Lambrou of Landmark Diner fame is planning a restaurant in Marietta. While leasing information obtained by What Now Atlanta (WNA) made it seem Lambrou’s new venture would be doing business under the “Landmark Diner” name, the restaurateur revealed to WNA that’s not the case. They have not landed on a name yet, but the building at 2031 SE Cobb Pkwy where Folks Southern Kitchen used to be, will soon be home to something entirely new.

Folks Southern Kitchen’s Marietta location closed down earlier this year after the restaurant filed for bankruptcy, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. With less than $50,000 in assets, the company couldn’t come to terms with liabilities of over $500,000. When all three of its Georgia locations shut down, word was that it was temporary but the restaurant was never able to find its footing.

Landmark Diner is the child of the Lambrou family, first opened up by Nicholas’ parents, Tom & Carolyn Lambrou, back in 1994 on Piedmont and Roswell and a second in 2003 near Georgia State University. After Landmark Diner-owned Broadway Diner closed back in August of 2016, Nicholas reopened the 24-hour restaurant this year as Midtown Diner (pictured below). Nicholas was originally looking to open Peachtree & North in Broadway Diner’s place, a joint effort between them and The Punchline Comedy Club. Those plans never materialized.

  1. The problem with that location is access! Cobb cut off the entrance to everything in the area badly! Only customers who are traveling N can enter.
