Just a few months after receiving approval from the Atlanta BeltLine Design Review Committee, Portman Holdings is ready to break ground on their planned six-story office building just off the BeltLine Eastside Trail.
According to the Commercial Land Development Permit application, the project is seeking approval to begin site work for the project, including ” Land disturbing activities include tree removal, grading, water and sewer installation, underground detention, grease traps, driveway apron, as well as new landscape and hardscape.” The site work is estimated to cost $3,000,000.
When completed, the project will be comprised of a six-story, 130,000-square-foot office building with two ground-floor retail spaces as well as 206 on-site parking spaces, according to the plans approved by the BeltLine Design Review Committee.
The project is located at 667 Auburn Avenue NE on a 1.38-acre site just southeast of the intersection of Auburn Avenue and Irwin Street. It is directly adjacent to the BeltLine Eastside Trail, and across the trail from Asana Partners’ Krog District projects and just north of the Studioplex project.
The company previously planned to develop a boutique hotel at the site, but it decided to change the plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported in April. Portman Holdings Vice President of Development Mike Greene said in June that the developer was hoping to begin work at the site in December, however no estimated completion date has been shared at this time.
