Krab Queenz is replacing the now-shuttered Gladys Knight’s Signature Chicken and Waffles, at 529 Peachtree Street NW.
“I am super excited to be bringing our signature flavored Krab Legs and seafood to ATL,” Rogers said in the release.
“We spell ‘Krab’ with a ‘K’ because of the kick of soul inside the flavors. But we’re more than just krabs and good seafood, we’re a vibe. We are bringing the entire Southern vibe to ATL. Our restaurants are safe havens for food, fellowship and just a damn good time. Not only do you get full, you feel good.”
Krab Queenz Atlanta is a collaboration between Kway and his two partners Tonique Clay and Natasha Burton.
The downtown outpost will be the third location for Rogers, opening only nine months after his first location debuted in his hometown of Houston, TX (November 2018).
Atlanta’s grand opening Saturday starts at 1 p.m.
Festivities include a New Orleans-style second line band and parade, and celebrity guests Pastor Troy, Mimi Faust, and the Ying Yang Twins.
Restaurateur and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss could make an appearance.
Rogers also plans on attending.
