The 25,000-square-foot space, at 3637 Peachtree Rd NE in the Buckhead Triangle shopping center, combines “technology, immersive storytelling, and thoughtful design to offer weekly ‘we time’ and ‘me time’” for kids and parents, according to a press release Monday.

“For kids, Kefi is a wonderland where they can place themselves inside stories, create their own music and enjoy the latest toys,” according to the release.

“Parents can choose to join their kids on Kefi play adventures, spend time as a family in the high-end coffee bar and café, Xander, or take time for themselves in parent-only co-working and relaxation areas built just for them.”

Once inside, kids are outfitted with Kefi Play Bracelets, “technology to keep kids safe onsite and enable digital play experiences that families can access at home.”

With a Kefi Play Bracelet in hand, kids have access to experiences like the Storycave (design their own adventure and characters using computer vision and interactive projections), the Beat Box (a high-touch recording and dance studio), ToyTropolis and Toy Testing Lab (unbox and test toys), and Kefi Studios (an experiential toy store featuring interactive display tables that show off the latest unboxed toys to young shoppers, then convert to theater seating for families to watch or record their own live unboxing videos.)

Kefi is designed for infants and children up to 12-years-old (this is an approximate max-age. Kefi can offer programming for kids over 12-years-old.)

The “Beginnings” area is a dedicated space for Kefi’s youngest guests who are not yet walking.

It has special toys and opportunities for parent and child experiences specific to this age group. Infants up to 11-months-old get free entry.

Families can purchase a two-hour play pass for $14.99, or a two-person membership starting at $99 a month.

Kefi will also boast two parent-only spaces.

The Oasis offers a sound-conditioned environment with high-speed internet for remote work activities while the Listening Lounge is designed for relaxation, complete with noise-canceling headphones.

Both spaces include secure visibility into all playrooms.

“Kefi is the answer for busy parents who value ‘me time’ and ‘we time,’” Drew Panayiotou, Kefi’s founder and CEO, said in the release.

“Families deserve a space that is every day special for both parent and child, where it can be an escape during a busy week versus just a weekend.”

Panayiotou has combined his experience working for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and Best Buy, to develop the “high-tech solutions” at Kefi.

Barry Williams, a former technical team lead at Lucasfilm for over 18 motion pictures and franchises, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, and the Marvel Universe, designed the layout and engineering.

Following the Atlanta launch, a national rollout will ensue with locations in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas.

  1. I feel like it’s pertinent to add that Kefi is the first concept being rolled out by Red Wagon Ventures, the entrepreneurial arm supported by Chik-Fil-A (Kefi Holdings seems to be a subsidiary? Or perhaps RWV is the sole investor?). It’s interesting that information isn’t easier to find since everything the Cathy dynasty touches seems to turn to gold!

    1. Brian, great question! Here’s some info from Kefi:
