The Atons recently secured a lease to open a new Junior’s on the ground floor of the under-construction mixed-use development from South City Partners, at 397 N Central Ave.

Todd Semrau, vice president at Oakhurst Realty Partners, represented South City Partners in the transaction, according to lease intel.

“We originally wanted to open in Hapeville and started looking for space down there in April of 2018,” the Atons told What Now Atlanta in an email. “Unfortunately the available properties at the time would not have worked for us but it has stayed in the back of our minds. Now with the amount of new construction in Hapeville, we were able to find a perfect spot!”

Junior’s Hapeville is expected to open in spring 2023 and will be the second brick-and-mortar for the growing company, following an outpost in Summerhill that opened in 2019.

Patrons can expect the same menu and the same overall design and look like the restaurant’s current location, the Atons said. “We plan on working with the same architects, DeCarlo Hawker, and we will again ask local artists to paint murals and put their spin on the new space.”

In late 2020, South City Partners said the yet-to-be-named mixed-use would offer approximately 280 units and approximately 25 townhomes. There would also be 5,000 square feet of commercial space that could be leased for restaurant and retail uses.

“Since we started, Junior’s Pizza has focused on using high-quality ingredients and unique recipes to ensure that our pizza can burst with flavor even with minimal toppings,” Junior’s writes on its website. “From the beginning, our Ezzo Sausage Co. pepperonis have set us apart and became so popular they are now used by several Atlanta pizzerias! We also offer Mike’s Hot Honey, a New York staple that we are turning into an Atlanta staple.”
