Jittery Joe’s Coffee has announced the company is launching franchise opportunities for its new drive-thru model.

“As demand for coffee and energy continues to rise, savvy investments are shifting toward the smaller-footprint, drive-thru-only coffee model,” Drew French, co-owner of Jittery Joe’s Franchising, said in the announcement. “Our new drive-thru concept is poised to capitalize on these trends while offering the same exceptional coffee that has built a loyal following over the past three decades.“

The company said the drive-thru concept will offer a smaller footprint, lower labor costs and enhanced efficiency.

“Our quality product, unique partnerships and commitment to pouring into our communities make us a strong competitor in this market,” Jittery Joe’s co-owner Michael Ripps said. “We look forward to welcoming new franchisees into the Jittery Joe’s family.”

Jittery Joe’s began in Athens in 1994 and has since become a favorite of many University of Georgia students and others around the state. The name comes from an episode of The Simpsons in which Marge goes to a diner called Jittery Joe’s.

The company produces single-origin and blended coffees and has several cafés around Georgia, including one in Atlanta inside the Ritz-Carlton at 181 Peachtree Street.
