The company’s retail shops will reopen at 5 p.m.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams temporarily shuttered its scoop shops last week including three in Atlanta for the second time in response to a Listeria scare, but isn’t wasting anytime reopening.

“I’m happy to announce we’re reopening our shops this weekend in time to celebrate the Columbus Pride Festival, one of our favorite events of the year,” owner Jeni Britton Bauer said in a statement Friday afternoon.
The shops will open at 5 p.m on Saturday across the country, according to the announcement.
Jeni’s is working with Smith Dairy to produce the company’s ice cream while its production facilities remain shuttered.
The menu will be limited at first, featuring a mix of ice creams, frozen yogurts, and sorbet. More flavors will be added to the menu in the coming weeks.
“The 110-year-old dairy, in Orrville, Ohio, has been our partner for a while now, sourcing and providing us with cream and grass-pastured milk. We cannot thank them enough for their support these last weeks. They pulled out all the stops to get our ice cream made and have done a stellar job of it. We built this company as a community—Jeni’s is about fellowship—and our partnership with Smith’s is just one of many recent examples of that.”
Jeni’s own production kitchen has not yet reopened.
“We continue our all-out effort to get it back up and running. Thank you for your patience and support.”
