Plans were recently submitted to the City of Atlanta to buildout the nine-screen, 426-seat “luxury” theatre in Colony Square.

An estimated $1,000,000 will be spent constructing the new iPic Theater, according to the plans.

It is set to debut May 2020, a Colony Square spokesperson in an email Thursday confirmed with What Now Atlanta.

The project was first announced in May 2018 when a lease was secured.

Serving as the Midtown mixed-use development’s “entertainment anchor,” iPic Theater will include a 6,700-square-foot bar and restaurant.

“We have had our eye on the Atlanta market for five years now, and the Colony Square redevelopment project allowed us to launch the iPic brand experience into one of the top ten DMAs in the country,” Hamid Hashemi, president, and CEO of iPic Entertainment said at the time of last year’s announcement.

“This market has consistently been heralded as one of the most walkable in the nation, making our ground-floor presence at Colony Square all the more impactful in delivering a quality entertainment, dining and experiential destination for arts and culture under one roof.”

  1. Does $1,000,000 seem REALLY low? There are condos that run for more than that and they dont have nine screens, all the audio/visual technology, concessions, bar, etc. I would have guessed more around $10,000,000

  2. 1M does seem very low!!! I’m sure it’s more than that. The article reads as though the 1M is the total amount. The Houston iPic at River oak District is amazing, so i’m sure this location will deliver as well.
