The Roof at Ponce City Market is transforming into a “winter dreamland” starting November 27 with plans to erect its 3,500-square-foot ice skating rink for its Skate the Sky experience and six private igloos for outdoor dining. Each igloo can seat up to six guests, allowing small groups to have an “intimate and safe social distant experience with an amazing view.” Food and beverage — hot cocktails, champagne, and large format cocktails — options will also be available.
The igloo experiences will also be available at 9 Mile Station this year, the full-service restaurant at The Roof. “The restaurant will transform into a woodland forest with cozy outdoor seating areas overlooking the best views of Atlanta and guests will be able to reserve igloos for dinner service,” according to a press release this week. “All igloos will be sanitized manually and with fogging technology between occupants.” Igloo reservations open on October 15 and ice skating reservations open on November 1.
“We are thrilled about the expansion of The Roof’s igloo experience at a time when everyone is looking for safe, socially distant activities to enjoy,” Mandy Slater, co-owner of Slater Hospitality, the company that owns The Roof, said in the release. “We hope that our expanded offering and commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of our guests will help them create lasting memories and provide a sense of normalcy during this time.”
Skate the Sky will be open whenever the roof is open. Family hours are reserved for Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The 21+ DJ-spun dance party will only take place on Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Skate the Sky admission is $15 for adults and $7 for children, and also includes access to Skyline Park and fur coat golf (when available).
Pricing for the 2-hour Rooftop Terrace igloo experience is $175. Pricing for the 2.5-hour 9 Mile Station igloo experience is $125 Sunday through Thursday and $175 on Fridays and Saturdays. Costs of rental includes igloo, ice skating, and unlimited games only. Food and beverages are available for an additional cost.
