The restaurant chain, known for its mood lighting and impeccable service, on March 31 will shutter its Lenox Road location.

A manager for the restaurant, at 3321 Lenox Road NE near Lenox Square Mall, Monday confirmed the news in a telephone interview with What Now Atlanta.

Staff at the soon-to-shutter Houston’s will be relocated to one of the two remaining locations on Peachtree Road and Northside Parkway, according to the manager.

Houston’s on Lenox Road is the oldest location for the chain having debuted in 1977, according to the company’s website.

It’s unclear why the location is closing but a boycott of the restaurant lead by Atlanta rapper T.I. over racism allegations began in October 2017 and just ended over the weekend.

Parent company Hillstone Restaurant Group was not immediately available for comment.

No word on what might open in the restaurant’s place.

  1. You know why they are closing. Don’t even try it. It’s been in the news for months! They are racist!!

    1. This is horrible and disturbing news. As a loyal customer of Houston’s for decades, I am not happy to hear about this terrible loss. Houston’s service was and is absolutely “impeccable” and the food consistently excellent. Sad.

  2. Yes and this article needs to be written to reflect the truth. “Impeccable Service”… laughable. I guess people should rely on a more creditable news source.

  3. The service was impeccable for some but not all. They brought this on themselves when the blatantly chose to inject the foul act of racism into their business model.Stop discriminating against your customers and you will be just fine.

    1. Last time i wass there more than half the servers were African American
As well as the manager or at least one of the managers was…is it possible to discriminate against black customers but hire a mostly black staff …..
