Bravo T.V. is reportedly starting a new show similar to “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover” launching here in Atlanta, Creative Loafing’s Cliff Bostock first reported.

Rumored to be hosted by Tabatha Coffey, the new show sounds like Fox’s “Kitchen Nightmares,” which was hosted by Chef Gordon Ramsay when it was being produced.

Coffey, currently host of “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover,” will operate in similar occupation, dealing in rescuing restaurants near failure versus hair salons.

Nawlins, a restaurant inside My Sister’s Room in East Atlanta Village, has been tapped for participation, according to the report.

Coffey  was in Atlanta last month, Bostock reports, suggesting she might have here scouting possible restaurants for the show.

“I have been unable to confirm this with Bravo,” Bostock said.

  1. So Tabatha is a jack of all trades, eh? She knows hair and salons, so how the heck does that translate into restaurant management and ownership? This will be one show I could care less for (like her salon takeover show).

  2. OK I’ll admit I love me some Tabatha (Bravo is a guilty pleasure), but what the hell does she know about restaurants? But if this is her new gig, I think she should be given a particularly atrocious one: Aunt Pittypat’s Porch.

  3. Well, hell, I could tell her how to fix ‘Nawlins:
    – get the food to the table in less than an hour
    – get the food to the table hot
    – keep your servers apprised of ’86-ed items…and try to minimize running out of things
    – keep the food consistent

The problems there really seem to be around the kitchen producing quality food, quickly and consistently.

I really wanted to love it and gave it a few chances, but we had some really miserable meals there and gave up months ago. Most diners don’t give places 2-3 chances…if it sucks or is so-so, most people will just go to one of the many other great places in town.

  4. Start by changing the awful name. The only people that pronounce it that way are also drinking Hurricanes on Bourbon St. and wearing Mardi Gras beads in August. Oh, and Emeril. Gross.

How is this not a Kitchen Nightmares knockoff?

  5. If everyone would shut their traps..and pay attention to what Tabatha does..maybe their opinions would change. I am a former Stylist and am very familiar with the restaurant environment…There is a lot of drama and un-professionalism..due to the fact that the employees seem to think that its ALL ABOUT THEM. Tabatha has the ability to look inside, from an outsiders point of view and tell you what you need to improve upon..that is, if you wish to be successful!Unfortunately, she can be harsh but, the truth hurts..and it doesn’t matter how you feel, when it comes to business..its about the facts. The fact are..you are supposed to be at work to perform a job and provide a service to patrons..more importantly, to make money, etc.
I think that she has a lot to offer and we should be thankful that she is providing this service. The last I checked..we could use more FREE publicity in this city..DUH!

  6. If it were my restaurant she was invading I’d do a little background check on the salons she’s “taken over”. Most of them haven’t lasted more than a few weeks after the show ends. The salon corpses are spread out through Southern CA.

Remember the object of the show is to have a show people want to watch and NOT to actually help anyone. The “harsh” act is to get the lowest common denominators of the audience to jump on her bandwagon, yelling at people is for shock value and the real problems never get resolved.

  7. Please have tabatha do a tour of bospital staff and their treatment of each other. Nurses eeat the young….it’d be a real eye opener
