Here’s The Latest List of Atlanta-Area Restaurants That Have Started Reopening Dining Rooms

Some restaurant groups, including Buckhead Life, are toying with a May 1 return.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp last week announced by Executive Order that restaurants could start reopening dining rooms Monday, April 27, so as long as 39 new safety guidelines are met, designed to combat the spread of COVID-19.

It’s the first time restaurants are welcoming guests back inside after shifting to takeout and delivery only since at least April 3 when the state’s “shelter-in-place” order went into effect (which is still active through April 30.)

While a coalition of Atlanta’s leading restaurant operators have announced it was too soon to reopen dining rooms, there’s a growing list of eateries coming back online this week or planning on doing so as early as May 1.

MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2020


Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar

All four Atlanta-area locations in Chamblee, Decatur, Roswell, and Smyrna. 

C&S Seafood and Oysters, 3240 Cobb Pkwy SE, Atlanta, GA 30339

The restaurant’s Vinings location will reopen at 4 p.m.

Chronic Tacos, 970 North Point Dr St. 160, Alpharetta, GA 30022

As part of its reopening in Alpharetta, the restaurant is offering a dine-in special—two free kids bean-and-cheese burrito combos with a purchase of $20 or more.

Hugo’s Oyster Bar, 10360 Alpharetta St, Roswell, GA 30075

By reservation only.

Jason’s Deli

All outposts of Jason’s Deli are reopening with the exception of its salad bar which, under the state’s guidelines for reopening, buffets are prohibited.

Johnnie MacCracken’s Celtic Pub, 15 Atlanta St SE, Marietta, GA 30060

The Marietta bar and restaurant will reopen on April 27 with limited indoor seating while adding a permanent to-go menu to its business model. 

Moe’s Original BBQ, 349 14th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

The Alabama-based barbecue chain’s 14th street location will reopen for in-person dining on April 27.

Roaster’s, 2770 Lenox Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30324 & 6225 Roswell Rd Atlanta, GA 30328

Roaster’s is reopening in both Buckhead and Sandy Springs for limited dine-in service.

Rocky Mountain Pizza, 1005 Hemphill Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

The midtown pizzeria created an event page on Facebook for the reopening.

Waffle House

Various locations of the all-day breakfast diner have already started serving customers.


FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2020


The Original Hotdog Factory, 75 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30303 & 1529 Spring Rd SE Unit E Smyrna, GA 30080

Originally planning on a Monday debut, Owner Dennis McKinney is pushing the opening of both locations of the restaurant, in Smyrna and Downtown, to Friday.

Bishoku, 5920 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328

Bishoku in Sandy Springs will open its dining room by reservation only.


TOYING WITH FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2020


Buckhead Life Group—Atlanta Fish Market, Kyma, Buckhead Diner, Bistro Niko, Chops Lobster Bar, Corner Cafe, and Pricci—could open mid-week or by Friday. At a minimum, the restaurants are looking at reopening for curbside takeout no later than Thursday, April 30.

  1. F&B Atlanta at 3630 Peachtree Road in North Buckhead opened on Monday April 27th.
