Talent manager Jamin Whatley has applied for permits to transform the closed oyster joint into a bourbon and cigar bar.

It appears a new bar is headed for Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn Historic District. Jamin Whatley, who manages Atlanta-based hip-hop artist Yung Booke, has applied for permits at 330 Edgewood Avenue to open Hendrixx Bourbon and Cigar Bar.

The space was briefly home to Black Sheep Tavern and Oyster Room, which opened in 2019 and has since closed. Before Black Sheep Tavern moved in, the spot was occupied by Eagle’s Nest Ministry church.

What Now Atlanta reached out, but Whatley was not immediately available for comment. We don’t know many details about the new bar, or when it plans to open, but we’ll assume bourbon and cigars will feature heavy on the menu.
