Margarita and taco bar Guac Y Margys (GYM) has closed its Amsterdam Walk location, at 502 Amsterdam Ave NE, Co-Owner David Barton told What Now Atlanta in an email Tuesday.
“We made the very hard decision to close our Midtown location,” Barton wrote. “We put a lot of work into the space and made a lot of great memories, but it ended up not being the right fit for our concept.”
Guac Y Margys’ original O4W/Inman Park outpost along the Atlanta BeltLine and its West Midtown locations remain open, Barton added. The restauranteur did not comment further.
The restaurant and bar replaced Amsterdam Cafe in mid-2021 serving freshly-made margaritas and tacos. The location has since been removed from the restaurant’s website and has been marked on Google as “permanently closed.”
