The margarita bar will open in early 2022 in Highline Park at The Interlock and offer a variety of margaritas using hand-squeezed lime juice and “quality” tequila with infused fruits, a full bar, and chips and dips including guacamole, salsa, and queso.

“The core of what we are as a business is a beach bar,” David Barton, an owner of Guac y Margys, said in a press release. “Since Atlanta doesn’t have beaches, we’ve worked to create open-air spaces that are engaging and relaxing in great areas that ultimately become the hangout spot for residents and visitors, along with a highly activated indoor space as well.”

The 1,000 square-foot space at The Interlock marks the company’s third location in Atlanta and will feature a specialty margarita that is only made at this location, among others. Guac y Margys’ flagship location is situated off the Atlanta BeltLine in Old Fourth Ward and its newest outpost sits adjacent to Piedmont Park. But unlike its other locations, in The Interlock, Guac y Margys won’t serve its tacos.

“We love The Interlock’s location and our drinks are some of the best in Atlanta,” said Guac y Margys’ Richard Butcher. “West Midtown is growing so quickly, and businesses are really flocking there due to its thriving location in a cool emerging area. It’s a natural fit for Guac y Margys in that there is a lot of foot traffic, it’s a great place to hang outdoors and it’s a vibrant neighborhood.”

Located at 1115 Howell Mill Road NW, The Interlock is a $450 million mixed-use center with entertainment, living and dining options, office space, outdoor connections, amenities, and parks.

“As we finish up our final leasing at The Interlock phase one with very limited opportunities remaining, we expect to be 100 percent open in mid-2022,” said Justin Latone, senior vice-president of leasing at SJC Ventures, the firm developing The Interlock. “It’s extremely gratifying to see our goal of providing amazing, functional spaces for tenants with first to market and energetic offerings and amenities come to life.”

[Editor’s note: this article was updated to clarify that the planned Guac y Margys will not serve tacos.]
