Good Game and Topgolf Swing Suite is expected to debut in February 2020 in The Battery Atlanta, Kristina Richards, marketing and sales manager for parent company Delaware North, confirmed with What Now Atlanta over the phone.
The hospitality management and food service firm, known for its airport concessions business, was originally aiming for a mid-to-late December 2019 tee off.
“Two weeks from now is when we get our key, but that doesn’t mean we’ll open, of course,” Richards said alongside intel regarding an upcoming meeting with the construction team Friday afternoon to nail down more details.
The combined restaurant and entertainment concept will house seven golf simulator bays where up to eight people per bay can play, eat, lounge, and socialize.
It’s the second-in-Georgia condensed, suite-style Top Golf concept outside of its two full-service outposts in West Midtown and Alpharetta.
There’s already a Swing Suite location inside the State Farm Arena to add to the now more than 200 Swing Suite bays in 70 locations across 26 states, plus another three in Canada, Hong Kong, and Australia.
Swing Suite simulator bays are mostly found in country clubs, casinos, and upscale hotels, but a shift in company focus has it trying to make the Swing Suite brand synonymous with pro sports, hence the Delaware North collab.
“The reason we struck the relationship with Delaware North is their presence in and around major sports arenas and entertainment districts,” Ron Powers, president of Top Golf Swing Suites, shared with Front Office Sports.
When open, the 7,500-square-foot Good Game restaurant located across Battery Ave. from Gio’s Chicken Siciliana, just behind Cru Food and Wine Bar, will feature an expansive bar and dining area with a diverse menu featuring elevated bar foods and handcrafted dishes made from fresh, regional ingredients.
The bar will offer cocktails and an array of bottled and draft beers, including rotating seasonal options and local brews.
