Vesper, a tapas bar and restaurant in Glenwood Park, is adding more space. The establishment located at 924 Garrett Street, next to Gunshow, is expanding into the adjacent suite, converting the extra space into a lounge area.

The lounge will be called Spectre, and it will have a “moodier, sexier ambiance compared to its colorful, art-filled counterpart,” according to an announcement. Expect a color palette of black plum, chartreuse and dark walnut, plus opulent chandeliers.

Vesper is 1,310 square feet, and the expansion into the adjacent space would add nearly 1,000 square feet. The suites would be combined with an internal doorway.

The suite was formerly occupied by Nicole’s Beauty Lounge, which can now be found in Grant Park.

Vesper first opened in 2020 as a James Bond-inspired cocktail bar. The beverage menu includes signature cocktails, including zero-proof options, as well as a selection of wine and beer. Toasted corn fritters, naan pizza, a variety of quesadillas, tater tots smothered in beer cheese, and charcuterie are among the food offerings.

Owner Damien McGee confirmed the expansion plans in a phone call with What Now Atlanta. Vesper’s existing space will remain open during the buildout, he said.

Vesper is open 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday, and 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday.

Spectre is expected to open in early October.
