“At this time, we’ve decided to close our [Virginia-Highland] location,” the social media message states. “It’s astonishing how one selfish landlord can punish so many.”

A lone GENKI remains in The Prado in Sandy Springs (an outpost in Buckhead shuttered in 2017 after the company claimed it has only temporarily closed for renovations.)

“We’ve decided to put all of our focus and resources into our Prado location in Sandy Springs. This has been a difficult decision but, one with a bright future!” The Prado GENKI is currently open for takeout and delivery and will be opening up for dine-in starting Sunday, July 5, according to the Facebook announcement.

“We cannot thank you enough for your support and we look forward to serving you again!”

Reps for GENKI on Friday did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
