The Japanese eatery is “temporarily closed for renovation,” according to signage on the restaurant’s front door. The windows at the space have also been covered from floor to ceiling with craft paper.
Reid M. Zeising, the owner of Genki, in an email to What Now Atlanta Monday said the renovations were “not newsworthy.”
“We are fixing/painting/reupholstering etc.,” Zeising said.
The restaurant should reopen in a “few weeks.”
Genki Buckhead, at 3186 Roswell Road, first opened in 1996. The second location debuted in The Prado in 2010 followed by a Virginia-Highland outpost in 2011.
The restaurant in 2016 celebrated 20 years of business with an anniversary party in its Virginia-Highland location.
