Gabe’s Downtown is expected to open this winter at 129 Main Street.

The concept comes from Louisiana natives Gabe and Tami Toups. It first opened in Villa Rica in 2006, followed by a second location in 2015 in Douglasville. The Douglasville location will close as the new Villa Rica one opens. The Villa Rica restaurant closed in 2021 due to structural issues.

Gabe’s Downtown aims to create the “warmth and charm of a classic Louisiana bistro, nestled in a casual, welcoming atmosphere.” The menu of contemporary Cajun cuisine includes a range of seafood, steak, chicken, soups and salads, along with a full-service bar. The owners’ Louisiana roots are evident throughout the menu. Think Cajun egg rolls, New Orleans po-boys, and shrimp and grits. They also offer catering services.

According to the owners, the new space is larger and offers room for more seating. They are targeting an opening date of December 2024.

Gabe’s Downtown is moving into the space formerly occupied by Uncorked on Main, a craft beer and wine boutique that closed earlier this year when the owners announced they would be retiring. The site is in Villa Rica’s downtown district. Villa Rica is west of Atlanta.
