Andre Gomez is opening his own restaurant in Smyrna later this year.
Former Kevin Rathbun Steak chef de cuisine Andre Gomez is moving forward with plans to open his own restaurant in Smyrna later this year.
Gomez this week secured a lease for Porch Light Latin Kitchen, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
“Lease is signed,” Gomez posted with a picture of the paperwork.
The Latin-inspired barbecue restaurant will open in space formerly belonging to Quiznos, at 300 Village Green Circle, Eater Atlanta points out.
Gomez will open Porch Light in “August if all goes well.”
Hearings are scheduled with City of Smyrna June 1 to obtain wine and malt beverage licenses “ensuring you have a good time” at Porch Light.
