Fork U Concepts to Open Southern Prospect in Watkinsville’s Wire Park

True to its name, the new restaurant and bar helmed by Scott and Alexis Kinsey will feature plenty of Southern fare, with a drink program that leans heavily toward bourbons and whiskeys.

Today, local real estate development firm Gibbs Capital announced that Southern Prospect, a full-service restaurant from Scott and Alexis Kinsey of Fork U Concepts would be joining its Wire Park lifestyle hub, located at 1725 Electric Ave.

With a kitchen helmed by Chef/Owner Scott Kinsey, Southern Prospect will feature a variety of Southern fare plus a full bar that leans heavily toward bourbons and whiskeys, all housed in a 2,500-square-foot space adorned with 25-foot ceilings and a patio overlooking Wire Park’s courtyard.

“There’s a palpable sense of energy that runs throughout Wire Park, and we’re excited to be joining the mix at this one-of-a-kind destination,” said Fork U co-owner Alexis Kinsey “Southern Prospect promises to take some of the best-known Southern culinary traditions and put a unique, modern twist to deliver a dining experience that will appeal to all.”

While an opening timeline has not yet been announced, Southern Prospect will be joining current and future Wire Park tenants including Mama’s Boy, Athens Running Company, Gekko Kitchen, South Main Brewing, Apotheos Roastery, Scoops Ice Cream, The Original Hot Dog Factory, Lalo’s Tacos & Cantina, and more.

Wire Park is an $80 million adaptive reuse development in Watkinsville, GA. Upon completion, the 66-acre development will feature 130 residential units, expansive public green space, and 225,000 square feet of commercial, office, and retail space including the area’s first food hall.

Fork U’s lineup also includes Taqueria Tsunami, Stockyard Burgers and Bones, Forno Vero, and Silla Del Toro.
