Downtown Tucker barbecue hot spot Ford’s BBQ is opening a second location. The new space, at 350 Mead Road in Oakhurst, is the former home of Matador Mexican Cantina, a long-standing Mexican restaurant that recently closed after fifteen years of service in Decatur, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Like the original Ford’s all the food at the new location will be cooked on site, and reportedly the BBQ joint is holding onto some menu favorites from Matador, along with serving up its own Mexican-inspired dishes.

The space itself, owner James Maggard told AJC, was in need of some refurbishing. After some cosmetic adjustments, the new spot will have the same look and feel of the original Ford’s, with both indoor and outdoor seating.

No opening date has been announced, but nothing beats a good summer BBQ, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for some of those St. Louis-style ribs in the near future.
