CARGO-Columbus will feature several shipping-container restaurants, food trucks and rentable commissary kitchens. It is slated to be open by early 2026.

Tenants expected to be coming to the hub on Fortson Road include a bar, a steakhouse, a pizza eatery from the owner of Cerrone’s Pizza, an upcoming concept called Plates Vegan, and more.

The project comes from Melinda Newton, the owner of Chicken Lady’s Coop, a concept that will be part of CARGO.

“Having been part of the restaurant industry for 30 years, I know the trends, and I am confident this will be a must-visit destination for food lovers everywhere,” Newton wrote.

The 11.6-acre site will have a sleek, industrial aesthetic to go with the shipping container theme. Live music and family-friendly entertainment are also envisioned for the site, with a park located adjacent to the food hub.
