Cafe West Express Owner Tammy Stokes – the fitness guru behind West Coast Workouts – late last week filed plans with City of Atlanta to outfit space in Powers Ferry Square for the eatery.

The soup and smoothie shop would replace Yum Yum Cupcake in suite 28 of the Petco-anchored shopping center, Leslie Mintz of Regency Center’s, Powers Ferry Square’s developer, confirmed in a telephone conversation with What Now Atlanta (WNA) Monday.

Cafe West Express offers products like “enhanced waters and juices, healing soups, and prepared foods,” and access to the “Lean Fit” workout videos also taught at West Coast Workouts.

The Powers Ferry Square outpost would be Cafe West Express’ second location. The first is situated in the West Coast Workouts studio, at 107 West Paces Ferry Road.

Cafe West Express is expected to open in the first quarter of 2017.

In related news, children’s boutique King and Bear is slated to open in suite five at the Buckhead shopping center replacing Festivity and a “deal is in the works” for anchor space 18 which was supposed to house Southern Season.

“We can’t announce anything just yet,” Mintz said.

Southern Season pulled out of Powers Ferry Square after announcing a bankruptcy filing earlier this year.
