Stephen Ochs and business partner Garrett Reynolds, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons, Thursday unveiled plans to launch Atlanta’s “first” restaurant and dog park bar concept, Fetch, in the Old Fourth Ward.

Situated on the intersection of Decatur Street and Boulevard, at 521 Daniel Street, the concept would include Fetch Ice House, a full-service eatery and bar, and Fetch Park, an on-site dog park bar.

“Growing up around dogs my whole life and having a boxer myself, I always felt torn between going out with friends or going to the dog park after work,” Ochs said in the announcement.

“Why can’t there be a spot where you could do both? Fetch is a place where you can hang out with friends on Saturday afternoon while your dog gets to socialize and play right by your side.”

Ochs and Reynolds are trying to rezone the 1.27-acre lot for Fetch, according to the announcement.

Similar to a “Texas-style icehouse,” Fetch would incorporate rustic features, an open-air design and an outdoor shipping container bar with rooftop seating. The centerpiece of Fetch would be an Airstream trailer transformed into a full-service bar serving cold beer and cocktails. Amenities include a dog wash station, Wi-Fi, on-site parking and a membership feature for Fetch Park.

“Atlanta is such an active, on-the-go city. We want to create a place where you can come as you are and enjoy being with those who matter most, including your four-legged friends,” Reynolds added.

Fetch looks to partner with local businesses, dog shelters and non-profits to give back to the community. Ochs is on the board of Enduring Hearts, an Atlanta-based non-profit which raises funding for pediatric heart transplant research.

Fetch is expected to break ground August 2017.

    1. No need to be hostile, Sarah G! It sounds like they will be a full service restaurant, whereas ParkGrounds is more of a coffee shop. I think there is room for both of them in Atl!

  1. It’s a great concept pioneered in Atlanta at Parkgrounds by Johnny Gianoulidis who also owns Kafenio in College Park…I wish them much luck but We Love Parkgrounds for its originality 😉

  2. Please correct your article- it won’t be “the first”, as Park Grounds has been doing it right for a long time

  3. Park Grounds was the first to do this in Atlanta, and has been there for years. This isn’t a new concept. Your article is misleading. Riding on the coattails of an innovator isn’t innovative. It’s plagiarism.

  4. Unless Park Grounds has started serving alcohol, then the section as written, “Atlanta’s “first” restaurant and dog park bar concept” is technically correct. The operative word being “bar.” Why do disrespectful commenter’s have to go into full-on freak-out mode and start lambasting an idea that, overall, is very appealing and cool. And I don’t even have a dog! My God, do you whiners have to zap everybody else’s enthusiasm for an entrepreneurial endeavour because you want to make some petty, discouraging and hateful point? What a joyless life you must have.

  5. I am so excited to see these entrepreneurs get this venture off the ground! What a fantastic concept for folks to be able to enjoy the great outdoors with their best friend and beer!
