Olive Bistro will soon be located at 600 Galleria Parkway SE. It was formerly located about a mile away in the Riverview Shopping Center at 3300 Cobb Parkway SE. The location opened there in 2008.

Olive Bistro first opened in 1997 in Little Five Points, which eventually moved to its current Midtown location on Juniper Street. The restaurant features family recipes from chef and owner Sari Masri.

The restaurant aims to be a “sophisticated yet approachable, friendly, intimate Mediterranean bistro. Elevated but not pretentious,” said co-owner and Sari’s wife, Kay Masri.

The menu includes a variety of meze (small plates) featuring Mediterranean specialties, like hummus, falafel, dolmas and more, as well as sandwiches, bowls and platters. The eggplant dishes are particularly popular, and Masri sings the praises of the lamb chops and kebabs, noting that the gyro meat and lamb are all halal. Takeout, delivery and catering services are available.

The new location in Vinings will introduce some revamped menu offerings, with expanded dinner entrees and a full bar featuring spirits and craft cocktails to complement the cuisine. They also plan to start serving brunch on weekends, featuring Mediterranean egg sandwiches, omelettes and bowls along with mimosas and espresso martinis, Masri told What Now Atlanta.

Olive Bistro’s new space is about 20 percent larger than the former one, and it will feature a bar that seats more than 15 people.

Masri said it’s important for the Atlanta dining scene to continue innovating and offering a diverse array of options.

“With the World Cup coming, it’s important that Atlanta puts forward international food because travelers want a variety of things,” she said.

Olive Bistro is expected to open at the new space in early February.
