Extreme Pita mimics Chipotle Mexican Grill, Pita Style

Extreme Pita is opening at Mansell Crossing Shopping Center in Alpharetta.

Located at 7660 North Point Parkway, this will be the first location for the franchise, which has stores in 18 states and several locations in Canada.

Extreme Pita was was founded in 1997 and offers fully customizable, rolled pita sandwiches, in the style of restaurants like Chipotle Mexican Grill, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Subway.

The restaurant will occupy space 1420B, nearly 1,360 square feet, according to the shopping center’s current site plan.

Mansell Crossing is anchored by Toys R Us, DSW, Office Max, Sports Authority, TJ Maxx, Michael’s, and Macy’s Home Store and is adjacent to North Point Mall and across from the AMC Theatres.

But forget the traditional Gyro on Pita. Extreme Pita offers options normally not served on Pita like Buffalo Chicken and Tuna. For us, it sounds like Subway with Pita as the only option for bread.

Jared and the Subway diet never did tickle our fancy.

  1. I don’t quite get the appeal of pita places like this and Zoe’s Kitchen. A pita sandwich is what I make when I’m scrounging around the house, trying to cobble together a meal from leftovers. I can’t imagine anyone ever craving one enough to support multiple pita chains. I guess the same could be said of burritos, but it takes a lot more effort to make good salsas and guac at home.
