She will shutter Expressions Hair Studio, along with the gym she also operates on the premises, and move both concepts to a new home in a converted 1920s house at 2382 Bolton Road NW.

The top floor will be the salon, and the bottom will be the gym.

Veri is excited about the new opportunities the location will bring, such as increased visibility and a larger space. The current Expressions Hair Studio on Pharr Road is about 1,000 square feet, whereas the Bolton location will be around 3,200.

Another opportunity the new location brings is that the new Bolton Road location doesn’t have anything to offer in the immediate area in terms of hair and fitness.

In addition to hair services, the concept will offer flow fit yoga, nutritional counseling by Veri’s husband, preparation for body-building shows and kettle bells.

Veri says that the goal is to make the concept more of a full-service business at the new location.

The space will be “very quaint” and “boutique type” store. Expressions Hair Studio is set to open in April.

  1. Interesting dynamic. As smaller businesses get pushed out of more central areas, they move to more fringe areas, making those areas better in almost every way. The upper west side is certainly ripe for this transition. It’s the Kirkwood of 10 years ago, but better.

  2. I love this! I have been a client of Carole Bache Esthetics which is located within Hair Expressions and I like that the new location will be closer to me and easier to access. Not to mention it’s quite close to my favorite Mexican restaurant so it will be a two-fer when I head that way!
