Slated to open later this month, the custom-built, off-campus center is located in a 15,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Earth Fare in the Druid Hills development.

The Hatchery includes collaboration areas, a makerspace, presentation and event spaces, classrooms, online tools, and a breakroom designed as a hub for student ideation and innovation.

Plans for The Hatchery were first uncovered in August 2019, at which time Emory reps wouldn’t disclose project specifics.

“Emory University needed an easily accessible space close to campus; we were so pleased to be able to work with them and find the right facility for The Hatchery,” Nina Rogers, vice president, leasing/specialty centers for ShopCore Properties, the owner of The Point, Monday said in a press release.

“The Point is less than a half mile from campus, and it’s well-known to the university’s students and faculty who will be working alongside their own alumni and industry changemakers. It was the perfect fit.”

The Point is home to 120,000 square feet of restaurants, shopping, and lifestyle options in the Clifton Corridor, a stretch of Clifton Road that is home to the CDC and Emory University.

Tenants include CVS, The General Muir, Code Ninjas, LOFT, and Emily J Aveda Spa.
