Following a decade of music, food, and drinks, The Sound Table closed its doors. This isn’t entirely the end, as What Now Atlanta (WNA) previously reported. Two new owners, Greg and Noelle Johnson have taken over the space and are going to be making some pretty substantial changes.
For starters, a name change. The 483 Edgewood Ave SE address in Old Fourth Ward will take up the name Edgewood Dynasty, Greg told WNA. The previous owner, Karl Injex, also confirmed the name change and said he’s holding onto the brand The Sound Table for “future projects.”
“We have been given the opportunity to carry on a dynasty, begun by the previous owners Karl and Mouna, who spent a decade curating a sublime mixture of wonderful food, incredible music, and all the while encouraging dancing and togetherness,” Greg told WNA. “We hope that guests will feel our love for this space as we reopen the doors to the public.”
Greg said that he and his wife, fellow entrepreneur Noelle, have been patrons of The Sound Table as long as it’s been open. As Injex was planning on closing its doors, the Johnson’s jumped at the chance to purchase the building. This isn’t their first business venture, as the couple also own Cake, A Social Bar. Greg told WNA of its concept: ”We are all survivors of a Global Pandemic. We ALL therefore deserve to celebrate and at each celebration, there is – Cake.”
On the second floor of Cake, A Social Bar at 485 Edgewood Ave SE — right next to the upcoming Edgewood Dynasty — Prime Vitality Center is going to be the name of their health and wellness center. Construction should begin soon, according to Greg, who’s been a medical doctor since 1994, US Air Force Gulf War vet, and Brazilian Jiujitsu practitioner for 13 years. He and Noelle believe that after being told to lock themselves away at home for months at a time, people need a way to reclaim their strength, endurance, and balance. It will offer classes, a smoothies bar, sauna, amongst other things in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Noelle also runs a highly successful Airbnb called Auburn Gardens a few blocks from the restaurant.
As for Edgewood Dynasty, the Johnson’s didn’t provide a specific date, but Greg is hoping for an opening in the next few weeks if all goes well.

lol sound table selling out… cake is so underwhelming, has zero character, it’s just a space with an empty interior.
my whole soul just died. what will anyone do without the sound table. all this fluffy bullshit cliche business taking over the heart of atlanta’s music scene. not to mention the trash restaurants. i’m over it.
