It will be the nearest outpost to the chain’s original Midtown location which has been in operation since 1982.

On the street level of a Georgia State University building and in the center of a strip of restaurants just south of Woodruff Park, J.R. Crickets will join Ebrik Coffee, Buenos Dias Cafe, Roly Poly, and other eateries.

J.R. Crickets is taking space most recently occupied by Ko Korea Fusion & BBQ.

Converting the space, including a full kitchen installation, is expected to cost $20,000, according to plans submitted to the City of Atlanta.

Owner Paul Juliano says a late-January 2020 opening is likely.
