Barking Hound Village is planned for a corner of the Old Fourth Ward at 619 Boulevard NE, Urbanize Atlanta first reported. According to the news outlet, the business plans to build onto an existing vacant building that used to be a medical facility. Greenery and playful dog murals are planned for the walls of the structure.
Barking Hound Village was founded in 1999, offering daycare, boarding and grooming services for canines. The locally owned business has several locations around metro Atlanta, including in Buckhead, Marietta and Sandy Springs.
“North Avenue – O4W” is included on the list of locations on the company website. There is currently a Barking Hound Village about 0.6 miles down the street from the planned one, at 765 North Avenue NE.
The new location is near Ponce City Market and the BeltLine Eastside Trail. Several years ago, Starbucks had plans to open a location at the site, located at the corner of Boulevard and North Avenue.
More information about when the new Old Fourth Ward location of Barking Hound Village is expected to open should be available in the next few months, What Now Atlanta has learned.
