Julian Goglia, Brooks Cloud and Mike Blydenstein, the partners behind The Pinewood in Decatur and The Mercury at Ponce City Market, are planning to open Deep End in Old Fourth Ward, The Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) Tuesday first reported.

The trio’s new venture is in addition to a dual-Italian concept opening in Buckhead later this year.

Deep End will take space formerly occupied by 4th & Swift, at 621 North Avenue, and will be a late-night taco bar.

“Think: Palm Springs meets Malibu,” Cloud told the AJC. “There are all these people mixing and mingling near Ponce City Market who are not ready to go home right yet.”

Deep End could open this fall, according to the AJC’s report.

What Now Atlanta in July uncovered a permit application filed with City of Atlanta for Deep End. Cloud and the company’s PR Agency of record did not return multiple requests for comment.

Minimal work is expected at the Old Fourth Ward space, according to the permit filing.

A total of $90,000 is expected to be spent renovating the 4,875-square-foot space on items like new electrical and interior finishes.

The kitchen will remain as-is.
