UPDATE (March 30, 2017): The Public Kitchen & Bar Phipps Plaza Could Cost $1.1 MM
As Phipps Plaza continues to undergo renovations, the luxury Buckhead mall keeps adding more options to its roster.
Daniel Reed’s Public Kitchen & Bar is the latest concept slated to open at Phipps Plaza, Simon Property Group, the mall’s developer, announced late last week.
“Phipps Plaza has always been a dynamic gathering spot for the Atlanta community,” Eric Howard, the mall’s general manager, said in the announcement. “Now with these highly anticipated restaurants, we’re enhancing the overall dining scene, and Atlantans will continue to discover something new each time they visit Phipps Plaza.”
The restaurant will join the center’s new Peachtree Road entrance in fall 2017.
Recently unveiled in March of this year, the entrance’s façade of storefronts has been transformed representing brands like Jeffrey, Versace, Tiffany & Co., Giorgio Armani, BOSS Hugo Boss and Bottega Veneta.
The announcement came days after permits were filed for Fifth Group Restaurants’ two-story, free-standing Ecco at the Buckhead mall, also slated to open in 2017.
“Derived from its wildly popular flagship in Savannah, Daniel Reed’s Public Kitchen & Bar will serve fresh American cuisine in an approachable, relaxed atmosphere, while providing true Southern hospitality to Atlanta patrons,” according to the announcement.
The concept, by Daniel Reed Hospitality, is a mid-century-inspired, “upscale casual eatery with farm-to-table offerings” and a rotating menu that will “evolve with the trends of the season.”
In related news, Earl of Sandwich, a fast casual sandwich establishment, is set to open in Phipps Plaza this October. Located on the second level near Belk, the new location, Georgia’s first, will offer sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and baked dessert treats made in-house daily.

Really, southern hospitality…. this place…. they are a joke. The management of this company are drug addicts and alcoholics. I am deeply surprised how they are still in this business with their southern “hospitality ” !
