Jamestown Properties, the developer behind the new mixed-use community in the Old 4th Ward District, today announced in a press release, Decatur’s Dancing Goats Coffee Bar, will open there August 17.

What Now Atlanta first announced in December the coffee bar would be opening at Ponce City Market.

“The opening of Dancing Goats’ pop-up shop and our marketing center gives context to the community, and a taste of what’s to come for the people that Ponce City Market will ultimately serve,” said Michael Phillips, COO of Jamestown.

Similar to the Decatur location, which opened in 2007, Dancing Goats at Ponce City Market will serve guests its signature Bartdorf & Bronson coffee, espresso, tea, chai and juices, as well as indulgent pastries and baked goods, including the shop’s sugar doughnuts baked at Decatur’s Duck’s Cosmic Kitchen, according to the release.

The new location will also offer lunch-goers lunch selections including salads and sandwiches.

“Our new location has a downtown and vintage-industrial feel, with a screened patio for a calm and relaxing place to enjoy a cup of coffee,” said Mike Ferguson, business development director at Batdorf & Bronson, the Atlanta- and Olympia, Wash.- based coffee roaster that owns Dancing Goats.

The coffee shop’s grand opening is scheduled for Friday, August 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., when live music and free iced coffee samples will be a part of the festivities.

Anyone who can show an O4W sticker will receive a complimentary sugar doughnut – from opening to close, all day.
