CRU Lounge is opening a new location in Alpharetta. As the nation’s largest franchised hookah and hemp lounge, CRU already has locations in downtown Atlanta, Midtown, Lilburn, and Edgewood (with a location in Marietta on the way), and over a dozen lounges throughout the U.S. Its newest location, at 11105 State Bridge Road in Alpharetta, is expected to open early Fall 2021.

Franchisee Terrance Jones likes to refer to the upcoming Alpharetta lounge as CRU 2.0, not only because the space will be nearly 3,000 square feet (more than double the size of most other Atlanta CRU Lounge locations), but also because of the clientele he hopes to attract.

“Most of the CRU locations are downtown, or closer to downtown, so they attract a younger crowd,” says Jones. “Alpharetta is more suburban, so we’re expecting more of a thirty and up crowd here.” According to Jones, franchisor Dennis McKinley is also excited about the new lounge and has been very hands-on with getting it up and running.

The new spot will feature two 250-inch projector screens, which Jones plans to use for games and fights, as well as a room for private dining and private events. In addition to weekend brunch and CRU’s usual nightly themes (Free Hookah Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, etc.) Jones hopes to implement an International Night at his lounge.

“The area is so diverse,” says Jones. “I want to take advantage of that and bring everyone together in one space to listen to music from different countries.”

While the space may be bigger, and the clientele may be older, Jones says his CRU Lounge will offer the same opportunity for customers to sit back, relax, and enjoy themselves.

“It really is a great place to catch a vibe,” Jones says, “to sit back, smoke some hookah, and eat some food.”

CRU Alpharetta should be open in time for football season, so head there in September to catch a vibe and watch the game on one of those giant projector screens.

  1. THIS IS IN JOHNS CREEK, NOT ALPHARETTA. The mailing address of a location does not always match its actual city location, especially in Johns Creek where the city shares zip codes with Alpharetta and Duluth. A little investigation would uncover this.

  2. The only way this lounge will work is if you cater to the locals! To get people in there on different nights! I was there on Friday. And I will say I’m not impressed
