Co-Owners Jake Karmin and Judy Ho revealed the news in a press release Thursday on the heels of the release of Robert Mueller’s redacted report.

“We look forward to being an early evening and late-night hub for the Summerhill neighborhood and restaurant district,” Karmin and Ho said in the release.

“Redacted will be a small, intimate, but lively space ideal for gathering, engaging, and affable consumption.”

Redacted Basement Drink Parlor, at 63b Georgia Avenue, is still on track to open in fall 2019.

The tucked away cocktail and beer bar is the brainchild of Karmin and Ho, two longtime industry veterans who had worked together for eight years at the now-shuttered Hand in Hand.

Bringing a “funky underground vibe to the burgeoning Georgia Avenue development,” the pair promises a menu of classic and unique cocktails, select wines and rare sought-after beers.

The 1,500-square-foot space is being designed by Revive Architecture and will have a “low ceilinged mix of comfort and textures.”

Karmin and Ho were forced to change the forthcoming bar’s name after receiving a cease and desist letter for the name “Conspiracy.”

The sender was not disclosed.
