Steakhouse relocating to Alpharetta.
Rumors of Ruth’s Chris Steak in Sandy Springs closing have been cooking since 2010.
And while the restaurant’s backers have been hesitant to admit the steakhouse was well done, a company spokeswoman confirmed with What Now Atlanta (WNA) Saturday that Ruth’s Chris Sandy Springs is moving to Alpharetta in the fall of 2014.
“Franchisees Jim Brooks, Phil Brooks, Mark Oswald and Nancy Oswald, the largest franchisees of the internationally acclaimed brand, have purchased the property and building at 11655 Haynes Bridge Road just off Georgia 400,” according to a press release.
The 18,248-square-foot space was first built in 2001 by Atlanta’s Fotos family. It debuted in the Alpharetta market as Rainwater Restaurant and attracted a “DiRona” (Distinguished Restaurants of North America) award among other culinary honors. The property was constructed for over $7 million with private dining and banquet facilities including a brick vaulted-ceiling wine room with climate controlled storage for over 9,000 bottles.
“This was an opportunity that we simply had to seize,” Jim Brooks, Ruth’s Chris co-owner said in the release. “It has been a wonderful twenty plus years in Sandy Springs, but the Haynes Bridge site offers the ability to be in a distinct trade area from our other three Atlanta restaurants with the bonus of unprecedented event space.”
The Brooks and Oswalds have Ruth’s Chris restaurants in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee.

I am not surprised by this in the least. I was in this establishment with my wife a few months ago when a casually dressed latino male in his late 20’s about 5’11 weighing 175 pounds with shoulder length hair wearing a tight tshirt that really outlined his physique came in. Shortly after his arrival I went to the commode and lo and behold he was in there and he started wiggling and waving his enormous light brown ding dong at me. I got sick grabbed my wife paid and left never to return. I have heard of numerous theatres and bars where this sort of thing occurs but not a Ruth Chris. I am a gorgeous and faboulous brown skinned Indian male and get hit on by men and women all the time. I expect some things but not to have someone wag their enormous willy at me in the commode in a fine dining establishment.
