“We will have a full-service coffee shop which has a primary audience of the office space above us but will also be open to the public,” Hughes tells What Now Atlanta. “And then at night, as people are getting off work and milling about Midtown, that same coffee shop will also have alcohol offerings – cocktails and whatnot.”

Hughes says that the food program will come from some of the other brands that Apotheos’ parent company, Every Day People Group (EDPG), operates. While he did not specify which brands or which foods would be on offer, EDPG is responsible for Gabriel’s Bakery and Southern-style BBQ joint, The Nest.

Apotheos opened its flagship cafe and roastery in Kennesaw in 2020 and is currently working on an outpost at Wire Park, as well as a number of in-store Walmart cafes.

The company operates under the tagline “bolder, brighter, better together,” an ethos that’s reflected in both its products and its relationship with the community.

In an interview with What Now Atlanta published last September, Hughes explained that the company gives 10 to 15 percent of its profits to local charitable organizations, adding, “That’s where our tagline — bolder, brighter, better together — comes from; Because when you’re talking about our coffees, we do roasted blends, and we think the combination of different origins of coffees become bolder, brighter and better when they’re all roasted together. But then it also extends to the charity, where a community is bolder, brighter, and better when everyone comes together for a common good.”
