A bid date for the construction contract has been set for November 22 at 10 a.m.

The phased project will take place while the store is open.

“The major project planned for our Clairmont club will really enhance the Fresh value proposition for our members, an area where Sam’s Club truly differentiates from our competition,” a Sam’s Club spokesperson shared with What Now Atlanta over email.

“Our members will see large, walk-in coolers to house our produce and dairy products as well as an upgraded refrigeration line-up. All of this will enhance the already amazing Fresh product offering at Sam’s Club.”

The renovation project is expected to last 10 weeks, with a start date of February 2, 2020, and a completion date of April 10, 2020.

News of the remodel arrives on the heels of SVN Real Estate Partners listing the 22.1-acre lot where Sam’s Club is situated, and the building that houses the store, for sale.

The asking price is $16,895,000.

“It’s the only location inside the perimeter. They did have one on Piedmont Road a while back,” Tom Hunter of SVN, said.

“But now, the Clairmont location serves people from Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead.”

  1. Would love have a Costco in closer than Town Brookhaven and Cumberland. How great would it be for one to locate where The Dump currently resides? Of course, we’d need some road improvements to Sidney Marcus but that is long overdue.

  2. The current Sam’s used to be a large KMart store. It is in serious need of an update to be more revelant. It’s far less busy than other Sam’s and I suppose this update is the last shot it has at staying open at all. It would be better if it was turned into a Walmart, honestly. The old Sam’s on Piedmont was actually a Pace Warehouse Club and quite a nice one.
It was on Garson Drive rather than actually on Piedmont. Sam’s bought the Pace Club chain and ended up with the Pace store which was converted to a Sam’s only to be closed soon after. It is now mega church.
