Chopt Creative Salad Company, a chain of casual build-your-own salad restaurants out of New York City, is coming to Atlanta.

The concept has secured deals to open in Buckhead’s Tuxedo Festival and the recently-renovated Toco Hills Shopping Center; both centers are owned by Edens.

At Tuxedo Festival, Chopt will be situated in suite 200, according to the center’s latest site plan materials.

The corner space, at 3655 Roswell Road, is sandwiched between the recently-opened—and Atlanta’s first—Ducks Donuts and Health & Beauty Boutique.

It’s unclear in which suite Chopt will be situated in the Toco Hills Shopping Center, but the restaurant received the necessary permits from DeKalb County in November 2017 to move forward with its build out.

To service those two locations—and future locations—Chopt is partnering with Prep to house its commissary kitchen, according to permits filed with DeKalb County.

But unlike other Prep tenants—which offers shared kitchens like a co-working concept offers shared office space—Chopt will have its own exclusive kitchen.

In the Prep facility, at 3795 Presidential Pkwy, Chopt will prepare its proteins for the Atlanta restaurants. These foods are prepared offsite to minimize the grease trap needs at each restaurant.

As with similar build-your-own concepts, at Chopt you “pick a bowl of stuff you like.”

That stuff includes “greens” (think lettuces), “core choppings” (typical salad toppings like tomatoes, celery), cheese and dairy, grains and beans, “crunch” (things that add a crunch like walnuts, fried onions), and “the goods” (proteins).

Chopt has locations in New York City, Washington, D.C., Charlottesville, Virginia, and the Charlotte, North Carolina-area.

David Menis, vice president of marketing for Chopt, could not immediately be reached by What Now Atlanta for comment.
